Report: Tarvaris Jackson will not be prosecuted for gun charges

Tarvaris Jackson

NFL free agent quarterback Tarvaris Jackson will reportedly not be prosecuted for allegedly holding a loaded gun at his wife and making threats to shoot her.

A statement issued by the Assistant State Attorney tells us there was not enough evidence to convict Jackson if the case went to court.

“From the investigation which has been made, it is the opinion of the writer that this case is not suitable for prosecution,” per TMZ Sports.

On June 24, Jackson was arrested with aggravated assault for the gun incident with his wife. Police were called to the scene, where they discovered the loaded gun. Jackson also admitted to threatening his wife. Meanwhile, the couple’s kids were sleeping in the next room.

With the case closed, Jackson will reportedly get his bail bond money back and walk away from the incident a free man, per TMZ Sports.

Though, Jackson’s NFL career is likely toast. He last spent four seasons as a backup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Having been involved a domestic violence incident, whether charges were filed or not, obviously will not sit well with the league.
