Hall of Fame Game refund policy includes hotel accomodations

The Pro Football Hall of Fame has extended an offer to all the fans who bought tickets to the cancelled Hall of Fame Game. This offer includes reimbursement for hotel accommodations, among other things.

The Hall of Fame Game was cancelled on August 7 due to terrible, unplayable field conditions.

Fans were made to wait outside the stadium for hours as team officials mulled over the decision to play or shut the game down.

After conferring with the Hall of Fame, both teams and the institution deemed the field unsafe. It was later discovered that paint thinner was used on the field that could have caused burns on the players if they had touched it (more on that here).

Instead of the game, the Hall of Fame put on a concert and had another ceremony, but it wasn’t what the fans attending had in mind when the purchased tickets and accommodations.

As such, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of all the fans who bought tickets to the game.

Originally, the Pro Football Hall of Fame agreed to refund tickets to those fans but was not going to pay for hotel accommodations or reimburse any other expenses.

Likely in response to the lawsuit, the Hall of Fame has now changed its mind and is offering this new package of reimbursement. Fans that agree to the reimbursement package waive their right to be included in the lawsuit.
