Mike McCarthy not concerned about Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers PED allegations

Clay Matthews is one of the most overpaid players in the NFL

The NFL has concluded its investigation regarding the alleged used of performance-enhancing drugs (HGH) by former Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning. He was cleared of any wrongdoing after the league could not find sufficient evidence to support the claims initially made in an Al Jazeera report.

Two Green Bay Packers players, Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers, will still be pursued for interviews after their names were mentioned in the same report.

At this time, it does not appear that head coach Mike McCarthy is worried about the situation.

“I have not talked to them recently [about the investigation]; I talked to them back in the season when it first came out, and frankly I don’t have anything else to really report on it,” McCarthy said per Rob Demovsky of ESPN. “I have no reason to be concerned based on the conversations I’ve been a part of.”

Back in December, Matthews vehemently called the Al Jazeera allegations “bull****”, calling it “100 percent falsified, fabricated information.”

This is a story that we are bound to hear more about. At this time, all McCarthy and the Packers can do is maintain the status quo until further investigation takes place.

The Packers started their training camp on Monday.
