Lamarr Houston on Aaron Rodgers: ‘He’s a little too arrogant’

After spending two seasons playing defensive end and linebacker for the Chicago Bears, Lamarr Houston isn’t shy about sharing his opinion of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and it’s not exactly pretty.

“He’s a little arrogant for me. He’s a little too arrogant,” Houston said, per Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.

Houston didn’t stop there with the trash talk against his NFC North rival but did begrudgingly show him respect.

“He’s a cheesehead. I’m a Bear. He’s a cheesehead. But I have a lot of respect for his game, I will say that. He’s a great quarterback. As a player, I have a lot of respect for him … but the whole championship belt thing kind of gets on my nerves.”

He went there.

It’s Rodgers’ signature “discount double-check” belt celebration that irks Houston.

The last time the two met on the field was when Houston’s Bears thrashed Rodgers and the Packers on Green Bay’s home turf last Thanksgiving, reining victorious, 17-13.

Houston recorded one sack on Rodgers that evening. Though according to Dickerson, it doesn’t appear that Houston looked back to be sure that Rodgers was in one piece.

“I didn’t really look at him after [the sack], because I don’t give two flying [expletive] about him,” Houston said after the game. “I really don’t like that guy.”

That’s about as blunt as it gets. Houston recorded a total of eight sacks and a 42 combined tackles last season in Chicago.

Per the usual NFL schedule, Houston will face his nemesis twice in 2016. This will happen when the Packers host Chicago in Week 6 and the Bears play home to Green Bay in Week 15.

We must wonder if Rodgers will remain dormant about Houston’s remarks or actively take to his Twitter account to return the jab. After all, he has plenty of cannon fodder as Houston is a player who tore his ACL celebrating a quarterback sack. But you didn’t hear that from us.
