Report: Robert Griffin III visits with the Cleveland Browns

Former Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III has reportedly taken his second visit since being released earlier this month.

According to Fox Sports NFL insider Mike Garafolo, RGIII visited with the Cleveland Browns on Saturday:

This comes a week after the enigmatic quarterback dined with New York Jets officials.

It goes without saying that Cleveland is in desperate need of a quarterback. It released Johnny Manziel shortly after free agency started and only boasts one veteran with starting experience in Josh McCown.

Holding the second overall pick in April’s draft, Cleveland has been linked to both Carson Wentz and Jared Goff — the top two quarterbacks of the class.

The Browns have also engaged in extensive trade discussions with the San Francisco 49ers involving Colin Kaepernick.

As it relates to RGIII himself, it’s not a surprise he met with Cleveland. There are less than a handful of teams in need of a starting quarterback, including the Browns and Jets.
