Jimmy Butler will miss 3-4 weeks with knee strain

Jimmy Butler

The Chicago Bulls have no luck when it comes to keeping players healthy. Jimmy Butler is now the latest Bulls player to need extended time off to recover from an injury.

The Bulls announced Tuesday that the star shooting guard will miss between three and four weeks with a strained knee.

As an aside, he’ll miss the upcoming NBA All-Star game, meaning the Association will be sending someone else in his stead.

Butler joins Pau Gasol, Mike Dunleavy, Nikola Mirotic and Joakim Noah on the team’s official injury list. Mirotic is expected back after the All-Star break after an appendectomy was performed recently, and Noah is out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

At this time the Bulls are in bad shape in the standings as well, having lost seven of their last 10. Chicago is now the No. 7 seed and is in serious danger of missing out on the postseason altogether if things don’t get turned around quickly.

Obviously, losing Butler, the team’s leading scorer (22.4 points per game) is going to make things even more difficult.
