New England Patriots Are Really Terrible at Lying About Deflategate

“Why do they hate us?” The Boston Herald recently asked on its front page, pandering to the masses who love the New England Patriots, the local NFL team surrounded by “Deflategate” problems.

Well, let’s try this one out for size.

In the response to the Wells Report, team lawyers said:

“The conclusions of the Wells Report are, at best, incomplete, incorrect and lack context.”

And later:

“Texts acknowledged to be attempts at humor and exaggeration are nevertheless interpreted as a plot to improperly deflate footballs, even though none of them refer to any such plot.”

And it gets worse:

Get a grip, New England. Locker room attendant Jim McNally “is a big fellow” and wanted “to lose weight,” which definitely explains every reference to the term “deflate.”

That sure sounds like the guy who said, “Better be surrounded by cash and newkicks….or its a rugby sunday.”

You’re right, New England lawyers. If McNally didn’t lose enough weight, he really wanted lots of money or new shoes, lest his evening cardio would entail playing rugby on Sunday after the game. You’ve cracked the code.

No wonder why people hate the Patriots.
