Alex Rodriguez Not Bothered By Jorge Posada’s Remarks

Former New York Yankees catcher Jorge Posada has released a book recently. In his tour promoting said book, Posada indicated that he doesn’t find it fair that players have been known to cheat, including former teammates Roger Clemens and Alex Rodriguez.

“I don’t think it’s fair for the guys that have been in the Hall of Fame that played the game clean,” Posada said on CBS This Morning, via NBC Sports. “I don’t think it’s fair. I really don’t. I think the guys that need to be in the Hall of Fame need to be a player that played with no controversy.”

If you were expecting for A-Rod to be upset about the quotes, think again. Rodriguez took the high road and made sure Posada was only looked at in a positive light.

I have nothing but good things to say about Jorgie. I consider Jorgie a friend. Jorgie’s always worn his heart on his sleeve and that’s fine,” Rodriguez said on Wednesday, via NY Daily News. “He was a great teammate and a great player for a long time. What remember the most is sharing and winning a championship in ’09.”

For his part, Posada has already apologized to Rodriguez, indicating that he was “cornered into an answer.”

Rodriguez is doing his best to stay out of the media and just play baseball after serving a season-long suspension for his part in the Biogenesis scandal last year.

A-Rod is hitting .241 with eight home runs and 20 RBI’s this season. Rodriguez and Posada were teammates with the Yankees from 2004-2011.
