Andre Johnson Takes out Full Page Ad in Houston Chronicle to Thank Everyone

Former Houston Texans’ wide receiver Andre Johnson, who recently signed with the division rival Indianapolis Colts after his release, went big in thanking everyone in Houston for supporting him over his 12-year career.

This full page ad that Johnson took out is scheduled to show in the Houston Chronicle this Sunday.

I want to thank the Texans organization, Mr. McNair, my teammates and the City of Houston for your support during these past 12 years.

And especially to the fans – Thank you for allowing me to live out my childhood dream. It was an honor and a privilege to play in front of you every Sunday.

No matter where I go, Houston will always be home. — Andre Johnson #80

Talk about a class act, especially for the way Johnson was told that his role would be minimized this upcoming season if he remained with the team. Through his 12 seasons with the team, Johnson has been an icon in Houston doing numerous things to support the city and local causes. Most known for his generosity buying Christmas gifts for at-risk children in the area, Johnson will be missed in Texas.

It will different seeing Johnson suit up with a new team in 2015. However, he had to follow the path that was going to provide him the best opportunity to hopefully see a Super Bowl before he retires.
