Brandon Marshall Lost For the Season with Collapsed Lung

Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall took a scary hit to the back area Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys. At that time, the Bears indicated Marshall had suffered some sort of rib injury.

While the star receiver did indeed break two ribs, he also suffered a collapsed lung and was immediately taken to a local hospital where doctors were able to treat it (via ESPN insider Adam Schefter).

Bears WR Brandon Marshall remains hospitalized with 2 broken ribs and a collapsed lung that doctors successfully treated, per source. Marshall is out for season.

Marshall is now expected to miss the remainder of the season for a Bears team that simply hasn’t lived up to expectations. He finishes the year with 61 receptions for 721 yards and eight scores.

However, the larger concern here has to be over Marshall’s health. As we indicated when the injury happened Thursday night, it did seem to be a bit more serious than most had let on. Now that we know the severity of the injury, let’s all wish Marshall a speedy recovery.
