Texans’ Arian Foster Will Get Majority of the Carries

According to the Houston Texans’ head coach Bill O’Brien, running back Arian Foster is in line to receive the majority of the team’s carries.

O’Brien had this to report to the Houston Chronicle regarding Foster’s involvement (h/t NFL.com).

Arian’s going to play a lot. After that, we’ll see how it goes.

This is encouraging news for Foster, who underwent back surgery last season ultimately costing him eight games. Barring no last-minute changes of plans it would appear we are going to get a heavy dose of Foster in this Sunday’s game against Washington.

O’Brien further commented on Foster’s involvement and how the team might use their other running backs.

I believe at some point you’ll see all three of those other backs, Alfred Blue and Ronnie Brown in different situations. But Arian will get the bulk of the playing time.

Foster, who claimed this week that he feels “wonderful physically,” is the Texans’ best offensive weapon at this time.

For those who took a flier on Foster and drafted him for their fantasy football teams, this is the perfect news to hear. If Foster remains healthy. And does indeed carry the bulk of the load, you drafted wisely with an investment that will pay off.
