Report: Initial Diagnosis on Morris Claiborne is a Torn ACL

When Morris Claiborne actually finds himself on the football field, it’s short lived. Following what was a hectic week that saw him get demoted from the starting lineup and leave the team facility, the former first-round pick suffered what appears to be a serious knee injury in the Dallas Cowboys blowout win over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Initial reports from Cowboys owner Jerry Jones suggests that Claiborne tore his ACL in the game (via NFL.com).

The team expects to learn more on Monday, but head coach Jason Garrett indicated that the injury “looks serious.”

Claiborne, a top-10 pick in the 2012 NFL draft, has dealt with various injuries and poor play during his young NFL career. He was replaced in the Cowboys lineup by veteran Orlando Scandrick, who played extremely well against Drew Brees and Co. in an impressive 38-17 victory on Sunday night.
