Jay Cutler’s next potential career move will knock your socks off

Jay Cutler

Jay Cutler can’t find a job in the NFL, so he’s reportedly now considering a career covering the NFL as a broadcaster instead.

According to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, the former Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos quarterback has already auditioned for a position.

“Cutler and his representatives have spoken with network executives about football-related TV roles and sources said Cutler has auditioned with at least one network in recent weeks. It’s unclear how far along Cutler is in the process and whether he’s negotiating a contract, but his audition indicates he’s serious about broadcasting.”

This latest development doesn’t mean Cutler is absolutely going to retire from the NFL, however, despite reports he has considered it.

His agent, Buss Cook, recently denied Cutler would retire and further indicated his client was not throwing in the towel on his NFL career, per Garafolo.

“You’d have to talk to Jay about that,” Cook said. “Any football player would be smart to explore his options in case he doesn’t play anymore. But Jay is as talented as any quarterback out there right now.”

Despite his talent, Cutler has received as much interest from NFL teams this offseason as Colin Kaepernick. Which is to say, he’s been hearing crickets.

With that in mind, it would’t be surprising if he did pursue another career. Though, based on his personality, we’re wondering if broadcasting would be the best bet. Time will tell.
