Dodgers place Rich Hill on disabled list

Los Angeles Dodgers P Rich Hill has been placed on the DL

This surely isn’t a good start to his first full season in Dodger blue. Starting pitcher Rich Hill has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a blister on the middle finger of his throwing hand.

Remember, Hill missed extensive action with both the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Dodgers last season while suffering through blister issues.

Despite the widespread injury issues Hill has dealt with throughout his career, the Dodgers signed him to a four-year, $48 million contract during the winter. The expectation here was that he would be a top-of-the-rotation guy for the team.

After all, Hill posted an absurd 2.12 ERA and 0.99 WHIP in 20 starts between the A’s and Dodgers last season.

With Hill on the shelf, Los Angeles promoted Josh Fields from Triple-A to fill his spot on the roster.
