Former Heismain winner Tim Tebow is looking to prove successful as he switches careers from the football field to the baseball diamond.

Taking part in New York Mets Spring Training in Florida, Tebow is being given an opportunity to show the organization what he’s made of.

Unfortunately for the former Denver Broncos first-round pick, it has not gone according to plan. This has nothing to do with his performance on the diamond. Instead, it’s all about a scary situation off the field itself.

According to the NY Daily News, Tebow has become the target of a stalker. No, really.

“According to a Port St. Lucie police incident/investigation report, the 29-year-old Tebow was stalked by a Colorado female named, Michelle Marie Thompson, who told authorities she was in a “romantic” and “matrimonial” relationship with the former Heisman Trophy winner,” the report read. “Thompson, 36, of Arvada, Colo. was issued a trespass warning on Feb. 26 by Port St. Lucie Police and advised to leave the St. Lucie County area.”

Police reports indicate that the suspect then returned to the Mets’ facility two days later, only to be arrested by authorities and transported to jail.

The responding officer also noticed something equally scary when demanding to see the woman’s identification.

‘I turned it over to look at the DL Class, and noticed a small sticker on the back which read “I (Heart Symbol) Jesus/Tim Tebow.” When asked why she was at the sports complex, she said that she was there to see Tim Tebow,” the report reads. When the responding officer asked Thompson if she and Tebow were in a “friendly relationship, a platonic relationship, a romantic relationship or possibly a matrimonial relationship,” Thompson responded, “All of the above.”

That really is some alarming stuff there.

Baseball players in particular are the victims of stalking incidents. It happens every spring, both in Arizona and Florida. But Tebow is a completely different monster.

Pretty much an enigmatic figure throughout the sports world, he has a die-hard fan base. Anyone that has covered or read about what happens with celebrities in similar situations know full well there are some loons out there.

Let’s hope this incident has been contained.
