Report: Mark Sanchez to get ‘majority’ of the snaps for the Cowboys in Week 17

Mark Sanchez

It appears that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Mark Sanchez will the primary signal caller against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 17.

The simple truth is that the Dallas Cowboys could lose this week with a backup squad on the field and not a thing would change for the team’s playoff status.

We are not necessarily saying that Sanchez will cause the team to lose. But taking into consideration Sanchez has thrown only one pass all season, the Cowboys will certainly look like a different team this weekend.

It makes sense to keep quarterback Dak Prescott preserved and healthy heading into the team’s bye prior to the playoffs. Owner Jerry Jones has already indicated that the franchise also does not want to put quarterback Tony Romo at risk of an injury.

If something were to happen to Prescott, Romo is by far the better backup option versus Sanchez. The hope here is all three quarterbacks enter the playoffs in full health, as the team begins its venture towards the Super Bowl.
