Jamaal Charles to miss Colts game with knee issues

Jamaal Charles

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles won’t be suiting up on Sunday when the team plays on the road against the Indianapolis Colts.

After limited work last week when he played despite some swelling in his knees, Charles’ knees are still giving him trouble. This could spell the beginning of the end for the electric running back, who had to have MRIs on both knees before last weekend’s game (more on that here).

Charles has managed just 40 yards and one touchdown on 12 carries this year.

Keeping him out until he’s fully healthy is certainly the way to go at this point. His recovery from ACL surgery took longer than what we’ve seen from many modern athletes, and he is still having issues now, despite little work on the field.

Thankfully Spencer Ware has been lighting up opposing defenses in Charles’ stead.

Fantasy owners would be wise to put Charles on the shelf until further notice. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this in the coming weeks.

When healthy, Charles is one of the league’s most explosive offensive talents. Unfortunately it appears good health is eluding him, at least as it relates to his playing days in the NFL.
