Jamaal Charles has swelling in knee, listed as questionable

Jamaal Charles

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles is having a heck of a time making a healthy return to the game.

Entering Week 7, Charles is questionable to play against the New Orleans Saints. Charles reportedly has some swelling in his knee, per Chiefs beat reporter, B.J. Kissel. Charles showed up on the team’s Friday injury report after being “limited” in practice.

Unfortunately, this is one of the many setbacks Charles has experienced since he tore his ACL early last season. Charles returned to limited action in Week 4 when he rushed for seven yards on two carries.

And, in Week 6, Charles had 11 total touches and scored one rushing touchdown. If he sits out in Week 7, he will miss an enticing matchup against a Saints defense that has surrendered 11 rushing scores.

This would once again leave Spencer Ware in charge. Should Charles suit up, he would most assuredly be on a limited snap count.

At this point, we are left to wonder if Charles will ever be fully healthy enough to assume his lead role. Something that Ware has completely dominated so far in 2016.
