The New England Patriots will reportedly be going with rookie third-round pick Jacoby Brissett at quarterback against the Houston Texans Thursday night.
I'm being told Jacoby Brissett will start at QB for #Patriots tonight. Jimmy Garoppolo will be active, but dress as his backup, per source.

This shouldn’t be considered too much of a surprise. Current starter Jimmy Garoppolo went down with a shoulder injury in Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins. He did not return to the field after exiting late in the first half.
While the Pats had been holding out hope that Garoppolo could go, the team officially listed him as doubtful on Wednesday. That’s never a good mid-week destination.
Garoppolo will dress and back up his younger counterpart with wide receiver Julian Edelman acting as the team’s emergency quarterback.
Brissett completed 6-of-9 passes for 92 yards in helping close out New England’s win over Miami after Garoppolo went down last week. He’s going to definitely have a tough task against J.J. Watt and a swarming Texans defense.
