Hawthorne covered LSU Basketball starting in 1979 and added football and baseball in 1983 and 1984. He resided over some of the most famous moments in school sports history, including the “Bluegrass Miracle” and the “Earthquake Game.”
After three-and-a-half decades of work with the program, Hawthorne retired at the end of last football season. The last game he called was the AdvoCare V100 Texas Bowl.
If anyone has seen Jim Hawthorne, please have him call 499-1073…
