Andrew Luck feels ‘as good as I’ve ever felt’ for training camp

Quarterback Andrew Luck and the entire Indianapolis Colts organization would certainly like a do-over from an underwhelming, non-postseason 2015 campaign.

That might just happen, based on some exciting news Luck conveyed upon entering training camp.

“I feel great, I feel as good as I’ve ever felt going into a training camp,” Luck told NFL Media’s Stacey Dales, per Chris Wesseling of NFL.com. “Strength staff, conditioning staff and trainers, we’ve put a lot of work in this offseason and … that’s helped me and all the guys a lot, feel great, can’t wait to go.”

Luck visibly struggled early on last season even before playing with shoulder and rib injuries. A lacerated kidney sustained by the quarterback mid-season sent Luck to the bench for good last year. The team finished 8-8 while resorting to fourth- and fifth-string quarterbacks to close out the year.

Luck recently fessed up to not playing his best football when on the field in 2015. Since, he has reportedly been working on his sliding techniques. He also signed a whopping six-year, $140 million contract extension making him the highest paid player in the league.

Careers for some of the Colts’ brass could be on the line if Luck doesn’t rebound and help lead Indianapolis into the playoffs.

With the exception of last year, Luck has thrived since being drafted No. overall in 2012. The Colts achieved postseason status in each of his first three years with the team, going further into the playoffs every year.

Hopefully, Luck is just as healthy as he currently feels once the regular season rolls around.
