Dan Skuta lawyer responds to ‘fabricated’ assault charge

Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Dan Skuta was arrested back on June 19 for allegedly attacking a woman by smashing her head into a building window in Orlando, Fla.

Since the report broke, Skuta’s attorney has released a statement regarding what he calls “fabricated” assault charges by the alleged female victim.

This obviously tells quite a different story than what the alleged victim claims. Skuta was arrested after he allegedly got physical with the victim who claims that he got upset when she wouldn’t give him her phone number. She was not visibly injured when the cops were called to the scene, but the officer did indicate that Skuta smelled of alcohol and had “bloodshot/glassy eyes.”

The Jaguars have since made it known that they are aware of the situation and will be gathering more information regarding the alleged incident.

Clearly, this is a case that will garner a full NFL investigation if the alleged victim sticks to her word and Skuta is found liable for any wrong-doing as it pertains to physical abuse.

Skuta will be starting his second season with the Jaguars after playing for four years in Cincinnati and two years for the 49ers. He was responsible for 37 combined tackles along with 1.5 sacks in 2015.

With Skuta scheduled to report to court on July 20, there shall be more to report on this story as developments arise.
