The defending World Series champion Kansas City Royals have always had one of the better uniform sets in baseball. The blue hat with the solid white home jerseys. Those have been among the best in the sport.

Changing it up a tad after winning the title last fall, the Royals asked for (and received) permission to wear this pretty awesome home alternate for their 12 remaining Friday night games at Kauffman Stadium.

Those are some mighty sexy uniforms right there. The gold is most definitely a nice look, especially considering the Royals are coming off a world championship.

It will act a reminder to fans in Kansas City of what this team accomplished last year. It’s also something the Royals should consider making a permanent alternate.

It’s an original look in a baseball world that seems to be too caught up in the next popular color scheme.

The all-white pant and jersey combo with gold markings on both the hat and jersey makes for an exceptionally clean look.
