The questions some NFL team representatives ask college draft prospects is astonishing.
In a video published by CBS Sports, LSU safety Jalen Mills admitted he was asked a very strange. and we might comment, irrelevant, question by an NFL team during the scouting process.
The question asked to Mills was this.
“If you wanted to kill a guy, would you kill him with a gun or a knife?”
The interviewer asked Mills what his answer was, adding that he would choose the gun because it is “less messy.”
Mills proceeded to say that the answer was graded. If you chose the knife then you were killing for fun because the stabbing process would have to be repeated. Regarding the gun, he noted that was just considered a quick resolution.
There perhaps was some metaphor meant by the NFL staffer that badly missed the boat.
Mills declined to name the specific team that asked him this outrageous question. The CBS Sports report also reminded us of the inappropriate question that an Atlanta Falcons assistant earlier asked Ohio State’s cornerback Eli Apple. Apple was asked by the assistant if he liked men.
Mills handled the interview in a lighthearted manner as he and the CBS Sports interviewer joked about the question.
Although most would agree, that question ranks up there as highly insensitive.
With nearly a month still to go until the 2016 NFL Draft, we likely haven’t heard it all when it comes to the NFL committing foot-in-mouth syndrome.
