Jason Pierre-Paul had another surgery on hand Monday

In an effort to continue healing from what was obviously a devastating hand injury, Jason Pierre-Paul went under the knife once again Monday to further repair damage suffered on the 4th of July last year.

The New York Giants defensive end posted a picture of himself on Instagram before heading into surgery.

He clearly is in good spirits and believes the surgery will help him continue to heal from the horrific damage (see here) caused by the fireworks accident that blew almost half his right hand off over a half a year ago.

This will be the first of at least two offseason surgeries for Pierre-Paul, per the New York Daily News.

He’s heading into the 2016 season without a contract and could potentially be brought back to Big Blue on a relatively cheap deal. Playing in eight games this past season, he only managed 26 tackles and one sack — pedestrian numbers for a player of his caliber pre-injury.

No doubt any contract he signs will be incentive-laden. If he can return to top form, then Pierre-Paul can once again become one of the preeminent pass-rushers in the NFL.
