Jason Pierre-Paul shows hand for first time since accident

New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul is making an impact for his team as they push for a potential NFC East title during the latter stages of the season.

In fact, he recorded his first sack of the season in his sixth game since returning from an offseason accident that claimed part of his hand.

Prior to the Giants game against the Carolina Panthers Sunday afternoon, FOX aired an interview between Pierre-Paul and Michael Strahan.

During that interview, Pierre-Paul actually showed his hand on television for the first time.

Warning: It’s a bit hard to look at.

This is a representation of what Pierre-Paul has had to struggle through in order to make if back on the field.

Pierre-Paul also opened up about the incident that led to him losing one finger and parts of two others:

“The one I was holding. I thought it was a different one, but it wasn’t,” Pierre-Paul told Strahan. “And it just went off in my hand, right away. I didn’t have time to throw. I was throwing them all night and then I light the last one up and it blew off my hand.”

As much as people called Pierre-Paul out for being immature immediately after the incident became public record, he sure has worked hard to get back on the field.

For that, Pierre-Paul deserves a ton of credit.
