Marcus Mariota saw himself in commercials ‘too many times’

Marcus Mariota

What was supposed to be a relaxing day watching college football turned into a fool-proof way to razz Tennessee Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota.

According to Terry McCormick of 247Sports, the rookie said his parents and girlfriend had a little fun at his expense because of the amount of times commercials featuring Mariota came across the screen.

After such a prolific college career at Oregon, the attention is deserved. Mariota racked up 10,796 passing yards, 105 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, as well as 2,237 yards and 29 scores on the ground. He was a first-team All-American and won the Heisman Trophy in 2014.

Tennessee picked Mariota second overall in the 2015 NFL draft, and he’s off to a respectable start during his first season. He’s tallied 833 yards and eight touchdowns through three games.

Unfortunately for the 21-year-old, he won’t be able to watch college football without seeing himself—especially if he’s watching a game on ABC or ESPN. The “Heisman House” commercials are constantly playing across the networks.

Mariota also appears in commercials for sandwich chain Subway, which also regularly appear during college football broadcasts.

At least Mariota’s contracts don’t stipulate he must sit back and watch the advertisement every time. It’s a long season, Marcus. If it’s anything like ESPN in 2014, we’ll remember these commercials for Centuries.
