Recent stories of divorce rumors between New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen have been lingering for much of the summer.
Brady’s alleged role in Deflategate reportedly created tension between the couple, since he’s been occupied preparing for and attending appeal hearings.
According to Stephanie Emma Pfeffer of People Magazine, a source close to Brady said “he can be ‘nasty and cold’ when engrossed in his own problems.”
“Tom is singularly focused on his career and sometimes Gisele feels left out. There have been arguments.”
Pfeffer notes the couple “didn’t celebrate their summer birthdays together like they usually do.” Despite the fact that Brady and Gisele couldn’t his birthday together, Gisele posted this family-friendly romantic photo on Instagram on August 3 captioned:
“Happy birthday my love! We’re so blessed to have you in our lives. Thank you for always giving us so much love. We love you!”
However, a source close to Gisele nixed any talk of divorce:
“They’re living their life, and they’re doing great. They didn’t spend his birthday together because he was in training camp.”
Since the rocky reports of divorce rumblings surfaced, both Brady and his wife have been recently spotted in Boston looking cozy on a couple of dates without their children, according to onlookers at Del Friso’s Grille in Chestnut Hill and at a local movie theater.
From the sounds of the report, it appears the super-couple is as strong as ever, at least for the time being.
As for Brady’s status regarding Deflategate, he and the NFL have not yet reached a settlement decision that could reduce or erase his four-game suspension. Reportedly, U.S. District Judge Richard Berman will try to have a ruling by Sep. 4 if both parties refuse to settle.
