NFL Suspends LeGarrette Blount One Game

The National Football League announced on Tuesday that it has suspended New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount for the first game of the 2015 regular season.

The suspension stems from an incident when Blount was with the Pittsburgh Steelers last summer. He was pulled over with then teammate Le’Veon Bell and cited for possession of marijuana. The two were pulled over on the way to the airport to travel for a preseason game this past August.

Bell was also charged with a DUI in the situation.

While Blount is set to face a one-game suspension, it’s possible that Bell could be ousted for the first four games of the year. If Blount’s discipline is any indication, that might very well be likely.

Blount found himself exiled from the Steelers after a mid-season spat with the organization. Catching on with New England, the talented but troubled running back helped the team to a Lombardi Trophy.

The former Oregon standout put up 281 yards and three scores in five regular season games with New England. He then proceeded to destroy the Indianapolis Colts for 148 yards and three scores in the AFC Championship game.
