NBA All-Star Game Starters Announced

The 2015 NBA All-Star Game starters were announced on TNT prior to the San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls game Thursday night.

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry led all players in votes, beating out Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James for that honor. Curry is averaging 23.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game for the best team in the Association.

Joining Curry as a starter on the west squad are Kobe Bryant (Los Angeles Lakers), Blake Griffin (Los Angeles Clippers), Marc Gasol (Memphis Grizzlies) and Anthony Davis (New Orleans Pelicans).

It is being reported that first-year Warriors head coach Steve Kerr will man the sideline for the Western Conference at the All-Star game in New York City.

As it relates to the Eastern Conference, here are your starters.

John Wall (Washington Wizards), Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors), LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers), Pau Gasol (Chicago Bills) and Carmelo Anthony (New York Knicks).

James will be making his 11th career All-Star appearance, while Anthony will be making his eighth appearance in the exhibition game.

Fan votes weren’t without some controversy. Kobe Bryant earning his 17th All-Star game appearance as a starter is a stretch. Houston Rockets guard James Harden most definitely earned that honor. It’s also surprising that an injured Carmelo Anthony earned the nod in the Eastern Conference.

The All-Star Game will take place February 15th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
