Katie Boulter defeated Jodie Burrage in the first all-British WTA Tour final since 1977, capturing her maiden title with a 6-3, 6-3 decision on Sunday at the Rothesay Open in Nottingham, England.

Boulter, 26, did not drop a set in the WTA 250 grass-court tournament while defeating fellow British players Emily Appleton, Harriet Dart, Heather Watson and Burrage.

Boulter converted four of five break points and only lost her serve once in the 73-minute victory over the 24-year-old Burrage, who was also appearing in her first tour-level singles final.

No. 4 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova edged top-seeded Veronika Kudermetova 4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3) and defended her title in an all-Russian final in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands.

Alexandrova lost the first set and trailed 3-2 in the second before mounting a successful comeback with breaks in the sixth and 10th games to even the match. Both players held serve throughout the deciding set to force the tiebreak at the WTA 250 grass-court tourney.

Alexandrova saved nine of 12 break points in the 2-hour, 52-minute battle, capturing her fourth career singles title. Kudermetova struck 10 aces and finished with 115 total points, just two fewer than Alexandrova.
