Washington forward Deni Avdija will miss the Wizards’ next two games due to left elbow bursitis.

The Wizards (34-44) have been eliminated from playoff contention. They have four games left on the season, beginning with a home game Tuesday against the Milwaukee Bucks and then Wednesday at the Atlanta Hawks.

The team said whether Avdija, 22, plays Friday at home against the Miami Heat will be determined by how he responds to the treatment. The Wizards close the season on Sunday by hosting the Houston Rockets.

On the season, the third-year forward is averaging 9.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.8 points, all career highs in 76 games (40 starts).
