Texas Rangers right fielder Nomar Mazara thought he had hit his 16th home run of the season on Tuesday. But his counterpart, Boston Red Sox star Mookie Betts, had other ideas.

Mazara came to the plate with one out and one on in the fifth inning of Tuesday’s in Boston. He drove a ball that seemed destined for the Fenway Park bullpens. But Betts made a brilliant read on the ball to make the play rather easily.

Certainly, the short right field wall at Fenway makes robbing home runs a little easier than in other parks. But the great play here was made before the catch. Betts made a fantastic read right off of the bat. That enabled him to get into position for such an easy grab.

With plays like this, Betts is certainly living up to his reputation
