Dating back to his days attending New Jersey Nets games at the old Continental Airlines Arena, Kyrie Irving has always wanted to play for this franchise.

The NBA champ got that wish when he signed with the now Brooklyn Nets in free agency this past March.

Set to make his regular-season debut with the team in Brooklyn Wednesday evening, Irving did not hold his emotions back when addressing Nets fans.

Question Irving’s brief tenure in Boston all you want. Question whether he gave it his all for the Celtics. There’s legit criticism on that front.

However, it’s pretty awesome to see the guard’s lifelong wish come true. The raw emotion he displayed Wednesday evening was great.
