Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade blocked a shot in the second quarter of Monday’s game with the Atlanta Hawks. He made history in the process.
Wade’s rejection of a B.J. Johnson shot gave him the career record for blocked shots by a guard. The record was previously held by Michael Jordan.
We tend to think of Wade for his relentless offensive attack and coming through in the clutch, he’s been a complete player. And both of those reputations are well earned.
But these kind of defensive plays have also had a lot to do with making him the great player that he’s become.
