Ultra, Subliners win to kick off CDL Major 2 qualifying

The Toronto Ultra and New York Subliners opened qualifying for the Call of Duty League’s Stage 2 Major with wins on Friday.

The Ultra, who won the Stage 1 Major last month, swept the Miami Heretics 3-0. The Subliners got past the Carolina Royal Ravens 3-2.

All 12 CDL teams will play seven qualifying matches ahead of the Stage 2 Major, scheduled for March 21-24 in Miami.

Toronto beat Miami 250-184 on Rio Hardpoint, 6-4 on Rio Search & Destroy and 3-2 on Karachi Control.

New York, meanwhile, had to rally from a 2-0 hole. The Royal Ravens opened their match with a 250-245 squeaker on Sub Base Hardpoint and a 6-1 rout on Invasion Search & Destroy. The Subliners staved off defeat with a 3-2 win on Highrise Control, then tied the match with a 250-100 triumph on Invasion Hardpoint.

The final round was all Subliners, as they won 6-1 on Karachi Search & Destroy.

Action continues Saturday with three matches:
–Boston Breach vs. Carolina Royal Ravens
–Atlanta FaZe vs. Miami Heretics
–New York Subliners vs. Seatle Surge
