UConn star guard Paige Bueckers has recovered from her knee injury and will be available to play in Friday’s game against St. John’s, the school said Thursday.

Bueckers underwent surgery on Dec. 13 to repair a anterior tibial plateau fracture and torn lateral meniscus in her left knee. She was injured on Dec. 5 during a victory over Notre Dame.

Bueckers warmed up before Wednesday’s game against Marquette but wasn’t available to play. She had a doctor’s appointment on Thursday prior to the school making the announcement that she will be available for Friday’s game in Hartford.

Bueckers averaged 21.2 points, 6.2 assists, 5.5 rebounds and 2.7 steals in six games this season before the surgery.

Last season, Bueckers was a freshman sensation who won the Wooden Award and Naismith Trophy among other national honors. She averaged 20 points, 5.7 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 2.3 steals in 29 games.

The Huskies (20-5) are 15-4 since Bueckers was injured.
