Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce is now among the most popular sports figures in the world. His love story with Taylor Swift and a second consecutive Super Bowl title have both added a new layer to this.

With Kelce celebrating this fame as well as back-to-back titles, he’s now looking to cash in.

Tatian Siegel of Variety.com reports that Kelce is going to serve as an executive producer for a low-budget independent film called My Dead Friend Zoe. The movie will star veteran actors Morgan Freeman and Ed Harris.

Per the report, this will be the first film to utilize the 2022 Inflation Reduction Act for financial backing.

“Hollywood is risky, right? On a scale of one to 10, Hollywood, it is a 9.5,” producer Ray Maiello said. “Especially in terms of independent film. These federal tax credits take the risk down to like a five.”

Executive producers typically provide a ton of financial backing for a movie. Given the aforementioned note on the Inflation Reduction Act, it’s not known how much Kelce is going to be doling out.

The dark comedy focuses on a female Afghanistan veteran who comes head-to-head with her Vietnam vet grandfather at a lake house.

As for Kelce, the three-time Super Bowl champion plans to return to the Chiefs for another season as they attempt to three-peat as champs. He’s currently playing under a four-year, $57.25 million contract and has earned $76.9 million over the course of a career that will lead to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
