Rumors will continue to swirl about Trae Young and his future with the Atlanta Hawks this coming summer. Young, 25, has been the subject of trade talks after his team lost in the NBA Play-In Tournament earlier in the spring.

Young’s latest career decision could ramp up these rumors. The three-time All-Star announced on Tuesday that he has moved from Klutch Sports and will now be represented by Aaron Mintz of CAA.

Typically, we wouldn’t look at this type of news. However, the backdrop of trade rumors surrounding Young forces us to look a bit more into this.

Klutch Sports represents stars such as the Los Angeles Lakers’ tandem of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. This is notable in that the Lakers have been bandied about as a potential landing spot for the enigmatic guard.

Other big-name Klutch clients include Draymond Green (Golden State Warriors), Tyrese Maxey (Philadelphia 76ers) and Young’s teammate with the Hawks, Dejounte Murray.

Whether we’re reading too much into this move remains to be seen. But it must be noted that Young’s reputation around the league has taken a bit of a hit recently.

In fact, a report report questions what Young’s trade value will be this summer if the Hawks opt to move off him.

This has not stopped talk about a potential trade from Atlanta.

“It’s only recently that there’s been legitimate rumblings about the possibility of Trae Young actually being traded,” ESPN NBA insider Tim MacMahon said back in April . “Only recently has it been something that you would think would be a consideration for the Hawks. And I think this pushes that into the relatively likely scenarios and I do think that’s a potential massive shift.”
