Tony Allen on Stephen Curry: “It Ain’t Nothing I Ain’t Never Seen Before”

As an editor, Tony Allen’s recent comments about Golden State Warriors guard and NBA MVP Stephen Curry make me want to tutor the Memphis Grizzlies guard.

As someone who loves watching basketball, Allen’s comments made absolutely no sense.

Here’s what the all-world defender had to say about Curry after the latter was announced as the Association’s MVP.

I don’t get a vote, but I acknowledge his MVP status,” Tony Allen said after practice on Monday, via CSN Bay Area. “It’s well deserved, I wasn’t surprised. He can shoot the ball pretty good and he got a nice handle. But it ain’t nothing I ain’t never seen before.

Need us remind Allen that “pretty good” probably isn’t the term that should be used to describe Curry’s shooting ability?

Curry finished the regular season with 286 successful three-pointers, which broke his single-season NBA record from the previous year.

In terms of handles, Allen should probably do some studying up. It would act as a good thing for his team’s chances of actually defeating the top seed in the Western Conference in their current playoff series.

Unfortunately for those who want to watch Curry show Allen what is up on Tuesday night, the latter will be defending Klay Thompson.

Then again, Thompson has been known to put up 37 points in a quarter, so he might do the talking for his Splash Brother in crime.

The last thing Memphis needed here was to give bulletin board material to a team that’s 72-15 on the year, postseason included.
