Terrelle Pryor responds to Kirk Cousins question with zinger about Browns quarterbacks

Terrelle Pryor was introduced as a new member of the Washington Redskins Monday, and not surprisingly he was asked about Kirk Cousins.

Specifically, Pryor was asked if, during his contract negotiations with the club, he had pressed Washington about Cousins’ status. His response was just tremendous.

In football terms, Pryor basically said, “I’ve already walked through hell to get here…”

And he’s not wrong.

While one can certainly argue about whether Pryor is a top receiver at this time, what he was able to accomplish last year in Cleveland was almost miraculous. Playing with the likes of Robert Griffin III, Josh McCown, Kevin Hogan, Cody Kessler and Charlie Whitehurst (it was really just five, not six) Pryor still managed to nab 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns.

The Browns featured the worst quarterback situation in the entire league. Yet Pryor still found a way to make it happen.

If Cousins does play out the season for Washington — and at this point there is no reason to think that won’t happen, despite the discord between himself and the organization — then Pryor should have a magnificent campaign in 2017.

And if Cousins is moved to another team in a trade, then Washington believes Colt McCoy can win games.

At the least, he should be able to make good use out of Pryor, who is definitely a player who has plenty of upside and will be a featured player for this team now that both DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon have moved on to greener pastures.
