Subliners sweep into semis at CDL Kickoff Classic

The New York Subliners led four teams into the semifinals with a sweep Saturday at the Call of Duty League Kickoff Classic at Arlington, Texas.

The Subliners swept the Minnesota Rokkr while the Seattle Surge, Toronto Ultra and Los Angeles Thieves joined them in Sunday’s semifinals.

The Subliners will play the Surge and the Thieves will follow against the Ultra. The title match will be played after that.

The Subliners took out the Rokkr 250-242 on Bocage Hardpoint, 6-3 on Desert Siege Search and Destroy, and 3-2 on Tuscan Control to clinch.

The Surge rallied from a map down to defeat the Atlanta FaZe 3-1. The FaZe took Bocage Hardpoint 250-150 for the 1-0 lead. But the Surge responded, taking Tuscan Search and Destroy 6-5, Gavutu Control 3-0 and Tuscan Hardpoint 250-196.

The Ultra defeated the Mutineers 3-1. Toronto opened with a 250-183 win on Gavutu Hardpoint. The Mutineers responded by taking Berlin Search and Destroy 6-2. The Surge then took Tuscan Control 3-0 and Berlin Hardpoint 250-150 to advance.

The Thieves also won 3-1, knocking out OpTic Texas. The Thieves won Gavutu Hardpoint 250-217 and Desert Siege SND 6-4. OpTic took Tuscan Control 3-1 before the Thieves advanced with a 250-238 win on Tuscan Hardpoint.
