Stephen Ross responds to allegations from Brian Flores, calls them “false, malicious, and defamatory”

Suddenly there are more questions than ever surrounding the future of Stephen Ross and the Miami Dolphins. While a week ago, their primary focus was on finding the next head coach of the franchise, now their problems have become much, much larger.

Following the claims made by Brian Flores, alleging Ross, the Dolphins’ team owner, offered to pay Flores $100K per loss, among many other questionable actions, the organization has stolen all the headlines. Even Tom Brady‘s retirement hasn’t been enough to quiet the concerns coming out of Miami right now.

Though, to be fair, Miami isn’t the only team facing heat at the moment, and there are likely more issues to arise elsewhere, the Dolphins are under the microscope because they appear to be the most recent violator of league policies, according to Flores.

Stephen Ross tries to discredit Brian Flores, again

But team owner Stephen Ross isn’t having any of it. Ross was quick to do what we all expected, strongly deny any claims made by Flores in an attempt to get as far away from the scandal as possible. Late Wednesday night Ross had a statement prepared for him, which read:

“I am a man or honor and integrity and cannot let [the allegations] stand without responding,” Ross said. “I take great personal exception to these malicious attacks, and the truth must be known. His allegations are false, malicious and defamatory. We understand there are media reports stating that the NFL intends to investigate his claims, and we will cooperate fully. I welcome that investigation and I am eager to defend my personal integrity, and the integrity and values of the entire Miami Dolphins organization, from these baseless, unfair and disparaging claims.”

No matter what Ross or his people state, the NFL, or someone, is expected to conduct a full investigation as these allegations should be taken very seriously and can not be quickly brushed off, despite the league’s efforts to make it go away.

In other words, the league has a storm on their hands, and it’s one that likely won’t dissipate any time soon.
