Stacy Lewis wins, donates winnings to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts

Stacy Lewis won the LPGA’s Cambia Portland Classic on Sunday. It was her 12th win as a pro and first in 82 attempts. But the story is that Lewis will donate the winner’s share of the tournament — $195,000 — to Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

Lewis grew up in the Houston area, attending The Woodlands High School in Woodlands, Texas. She has previously tweeted that both her home and family managed to survive the disaster relatively unscathed.

Lewis is one of many in the sport’s world to donate large sums of money to the region which has been devastated by this disaster.
