Defender Sam Stabb signed a new three-year contract through 2025 with the Washington Spirit on Monday after the club already had agreed pick up her option for 2023.

The replacement deal comes after Stabb played every minute of the 2022 season. Across all competitions last season, Stabb made 29 starts and played 2,610 minutes.

While holding down the defensive end, Stabb also was able to contribute a goal and an assist last season.

The Sprit were 2021 NWSL champions but failed to reach the playoffs last season.

“I’m thrilled to be staying with the Spirit for the next three seasons,” Staab said in a release. “I look forward to working hard alongside the staff and my teammates to bring another NWSL championship home to Washington, D.C.”
