The Seattle Seahawks reportedly are set to part ways with former starting cornerback Tre Flowers.

According to multiple media reports, Flowers asked for his release after starting Seattle’s first three games at right cornerback, then losing his job to Sidney Jones in Week 4. He has played only on special teams the past two games.

A fifth-round pick by Seattle out of Oklahoma State in 2018, Flowers has started 40 of 47 games with the Seahawks, registering 212 tackles, three interceptions, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries and two sacks. He has 16 total tackles this season.

Flowers’ expected release would leave the Seahawks with four cornerbacks: Jones, D.J. Reed, John Reid and Bless Austin. Rookie fourth-rounder Tre Brown may take the vacant spot after returning to practice last week off injured reserve.
