Report: Jets WR Robby Anderson fought with police, pushed one officer

Robby Anderson

New York Jets receiver Robby Anderson is in hot water over an incident with police Sunday night after he was asked to leave a concert. Now more details have emerged that don’t bode well for the 24-year-old.

A police report was obtained by NJ.com, which provided these details.

[Robby Anderson] was fighting with security after being told to leave. [Robby Anderson]  refused to leave and was told by (officer) to sit on the ground. [Robby Anderson]  tensed his body and pushed (officer). [Robby Anderson]  was redirected to the ground and continued to fight with police and security. DEF arrested.”

Due to this incident, the Jets receiver has been charged with one felony count of resisting arrest with violence, and also obstruction of justice.

An undrafted free agent out of Temple last year, the speedy Anderson emerged as a go-to receiver when Eric Decker went down with a season-ending injury. He caught 42 passes for 587 yards and two touchdowns.

Though the NFL typically waits for these types of incidents to unfold in the legal system before taking action, it seems likely Anderson will face a suspension of some kind.
