Rhode Island announced that Thursday’s scheduled home game against Milwaukee was canceled after multiple players and staff members in the men’s basketball program tested positive for COVID-19.

The nonconference game will not be made up this season.

The announcement comes one day after the Rams (4-8) played Sunday in a loss at Georgia State.

Rhode Island, coached by Archie Miller, is not scheduled to play against until its Atlantic 10 opener at Duquesne on Dec. 31. The Rams’ statement said they expect to be ready to play the conference game on its scheduled date.

The program is offering refunds to fans who purchased single-game tickets for Thursday, while those who had tickets through a package can get a refund or exchange the ticket for a future game.
