The New England Revolution re-signed defender DeJuan Jones to a new four-year contract through the 2027 season, the team announced Thursday.

Jones, 26, has contributed six goals and 20 assists in 125 MLS matches (111 starts) over six seasons since being picked 11th overall by the Revs in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft.

He matched his career high with seven assists and added one goal in 25 matches (24 starts) in 2023.

“DeJuan Jones has emerged into one of Major League Soccer’s better outside backs during his five seasons with our club,” Revolution sporting director Curt Onalfo said. “DeJuan is a tremendous talent, a respected teammate, and a pillar in the local community, all of which make him an important part of our team moving forward. We are thrilled to have DeJuan in a Revolution uniform for years to come.”

Entering 2024, Jones is one of only three MLS defenders with five or more assists in each of the last three seasons.

“DeJuan is the ideal profile in our game model and I’m very pleased he will remain a key part of our team for the foreseeable future,” Revs coach Caleb Porter added. “His elite athleticism and range to play box to box as an attacking threat and 1-v-1 defender make him a valuable asset to our team. I look forward to working with DeJuan when he joins us during preseason in Florida next week.”

New England opens the 2024 MLS season at D.C. United on Feb. 24.
