As Trent Williams future with the Washington Redskins remains increasingly in doubt and trade rumors start to pick up, Washington’s front office has reportedly already declined a huge offer from the New England Patriots.

According to TheTeam980’s Kevin Sheehan, Washington told New England its 2020 first-round pick wouldn’t be enough to land the All-Pro offensive tackle.

The report was also heard by NBCS Sports Washington’s JP Finlay, an even stronger indicator that Washington is taking a strong stance against trading Williams during his holdout from the team.

Reports of growing tension between Williams and the team came out on Aug. 8 and the situation hasn’t improved.

Williams is a seven-time Pro Bowl tackle and has started 119 games in his NFL career. The 31-year-old is reportedly seeking a new contract and wants out of Washington.

New England has shown a willingness to make big moves and if Washington changes its tune on the offer, Williams would make the Patriots an even stronger force in the NFL.
